• The image shows a person working on a laptop with a graph displayed on its screen. The graph consists of multiple lines, likely representing different datasets or trends over time. This suggests the context could be related to data analysis, financial forecasting, or business tracking. Additionally, there is another person's hand holding a smartphone, indicating a multi-tasking environment or collaboration.

Technology Mapping

The technology mapping builds on the SDG classification (including activity splitting) and aims to create transparency regarding particularly relevant climate impact contributions. For this purpose, the focus is directed towards the technology underlying a financed economic activity. The fundamental assumption is that the technology utilized in the course of an economic activity has a significant influence on its climate impacts. Classifications can be made into four categories: (1) future technology, (2) transitional technology, (3) indispensable technology, and (4) outdated technology. The methodological development for both approaches, the SDG classification and technology mapping, was carried out in working groups involving all relevant departments as well as sector experts. The results for all sectors were comprehensively prepared and documented in so-called indicator trees. The technology mapping approach is applied to the same portfolios as the SDG classification.
